For Users With Disabilities |
Cassette recorders, VCR and DVD players are provided in the Library. Users are welcome to use the equipment for their study purposes. When borrowing the equipment, users should register at the Circulation Counter or the Information Desk and should produce their Institute / College Identity Cards or Library Cards.
Dedicated computer terminals have been set up for users to view reference CD-ROMs in the Library. Networked computers are also available to allow users to access to the Internet, Institute / College networked information sources and the Library Online Public Access Catalogue(OPAC). The networked computers equipped with various software applications for users to utilize word-processing, spreadsheets and power point. Octopus-operated network colour laser printers are available for use in the two Campus Libraries. Users can log-on with their user names and pins to access to networked printing.
A number of netbook computers are available at the Caine Road Campus Library and the Tseung Kwan O Campus Library for borrowing. All netbook computers can only be used in the Library.
The Library is equipped with both Octopus-operated photocopiers and printers. Users are reminded to make sure that their photocopying / scanning does not infringe the copyright laws. Printing charges are A4 & A3 papers at HK$0.3 (b&w) per page, A4 & A3 papers at HK$2.1 (colour) per page.
Study Carrels and Discussion Rooms
Study Carrels are for the use of students and cannot be reserved. For private study or group discussion purposes, library users may book for use of the multi-propose room at the Caine Road Campus Library or the discussion rooms at the Tseung Kwan O Campus Library. Each room is equipped with a networked PC workstation and can accommodate 3 to 8 persons. Booking can be made in advance. Please refer to the reservation regulations for details.
Magnifier for Visually Impaired
Magnifier which can magnify text in books and magazines are available for borrowing at the Circulation Counter and the Information Enquiries Desk.
Specially-designed Wheel Walker
A specially-designed wheel walker is available for loan to users who need mobility aids upon request at the Circulation Counter of the Tseung Kwan O Campus Library.
Wheelchair Accessible Restroom
A wheelchair accessible restroom located at Tseung Kwan O Campus Library is available for those with mobility disabilities.
