Saint Francis University Library

Book Collection

Book collection includes English and Chinese books, and conference proceedings. The stitch-bound books and some less frequently used books are housed in closed stacks. Library users may search for these books on the OPAC and request them at the Circulation Counter. The majority of books in the Library can be checked out for a loan period according to the borrowing regulations.

Starting from February 2019, all English and Chinese materials currently grouped under the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) Scheme and Lai’s Classification Scheme respectively have been re-classified under the Library of Congress (LC) Classification Scheme by stages. The Library has now set up a General Collection to shelve materials under the LC Classification Scheme.

As of December 2023, the Library has completed the re-classification of more than 55% of library materials into LC Classification. In the coming years, the Library will continue to re-classify the major titles into the LC Scheme.
